If you have ever felt overwhelmed or stressed out about keto, or given in to the pressure from those around you, this video is for you.

Today, I’m talking about the number 1 secret the keto police don’t want you to know, So let’s get into it.

First off, I want to paint a bit of a picture here. It might be a picture you know all too well.

You’ve started hearing about keto from your friends, co-workers, family or even now maybe your doctor, but you’ve got no idea where to start.

You jump online and research a few different websites and videos. You’ve made friends with Dr Eric Bergs whiteboard, you know the names of Keto Connects pets, you best mates with Dr Ken Berry and you say right! What the heck, I’m going to give this keto thing a shot.

It’s your first time, so you go to the shops and stock up on healthy fats, some good sources of protein, plenty of eggs, fruits and vegetables and even a few snacks that said keto-friendly on the packaging.

You get home from the shops and want to show off all the great food you’ve just bought. Jump on Facebook and join all the keto groups you can, and post a picture of all your new foods. The response is instant, the first comment, “that’s not keto”. Second comment… “that’s not keto”, dislike, frowny face, banned and rejected from the group.

What the heck?

You just wanted to show the group that you’ve finally got rid of the sugar, chocolate and pizza from your fridge, but now feel stressed out, overwhelmed because now you have to go through the rest of your grocery haul and finding out that half of the food isn’t “keto-friendly”.

Does this sound familiar? It’s exactly what happened to me when I first started. For some reason, there is a group of people who’s only existence is to cut other people down. Commonly referred to as the keto police, they hide in plain sight. Keyboard warriors of sorts and they’re not a friendly bunch of people.

The internet is full of them. But unfortunately, the internet is also the only other place you can feel “part of the gang” because your family or partner doesn’t want a bar of this “new fandangle keto lifestyle”.

I’m here to cut through the noise and give you the one secret that keto police don’t want you to know. And that is this: It’s okay to start somewhere, and it’s okay to do keto your own way. It’s also okay to fail, and it’s okay to mess up. We’re human, and we make mistakes. We don’t become our mistakes, and those mistakes certainly don’t make us who we are going forward.

But I thought keto was all in? You have you be fully keto, or what’s the point?

It’s okay to start with bacon and eggs in the morning. It’s a thousand times better than cereal. Not sure if that meal had hidden carbs in it? Its a heck of a lot better than what you would have usually ordered.

It’s okay to start going sugar-free, and slowly transition into keto when you feel ready.

Just like going to the gym, its a lot easier to think you’ll exercise 7 days a week without fail, but in practice, it’s much harder to achieve. Going full-blown whole food keto doesn’t happen overnight. It will only stress you out.

Talking about stress, the #1 factor that is preventing most of my clients from losing weight is stress. It does not stress from work, it’s not stressed from their home life. Its self-imposed stress that manifests through making 100 different micro-decisions every day, instead of focusing on the 1 main factor that will even everything else out.

So stick it to the keto police out there. Find your own dam way of doing keto that works for you.

I can say this for sure, every single lifestyle out there, whether its carnivore, keto, vegetarian, vegan or minimalism, we all have one thing in common. Sugar is the enemy, not each other. We’re all here to get better, not perfect.
